| Greater Shekinah Glory Full Gospel Ministry |
Our History The ministry started with three ladies, Evangelist Gwendolyn E. Fulcher, Evangelist Anna P. Fulcher, and Sister Peggy Harrell, while having dinner at the Harrell’s home. With a grand devotion and praise to our Lord, they ate, listened to gospel music, and continually talked about the goodness of God. Being directed of the Lord, they began having house to house prayer meetings at each other’s home. At the first meeting there were approximately nine members present. The Lord blessed, as the group travailed in prayer, and drew others into the fold who had an ear for the voice of God. A prophetic word was spoken through Pastor William E. Purvis of Smithfield, NC, revealing the birth of a church that would be called “Shekinah Glory”. Through visions God began to show His people what the ministry would become. Shekinah Glory was to be a hospital for the many wounded souls to be healed, to recover, and to assume their respective duties on the “battlefield for the Lord”. On July 13, 1997 the members of Shekinah Glory Full Gospel Ministry entered the building at 818 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, North Carolina for worship. In April 2002, God elevated Pastor Anna to the Apostolic and in January of 2007 the Lord spoke that the ministry was to be called “Greater Shekinah Glory Full Gospel Ministry”. The congregation of Greater Shekinah Full Gospel Ministry continues to grow. We give God Almighty praise, worship, and honor for the things He is doing and yet to do, as this Body of Believers move forward with the Glory Cloud. The Meaning of Shekinah Shekinah is an Aramaic word meaning “resting place” not found in Scripture but used by the later Jews to designate the visible symbol of God’s presence in the tabernacle, and afterward in Solomon’s Temple. When the Lord led Israel out of Egypt, He went before them “In a pillar of cloud.” This was a symbol of His presence with His people during the Wilderness wandering. [Ex 14.20, 40:24-38, Lev 9:23-24, Num. 14:10, 16:19, 42] It is probable that after the entrance into Canaan this glory-cloud settled in the tabernacle upon the Ark of the Covenant in the Most Holy Place. We have, however no special reference to this until the consecration of the temple by Solomon, when He filled the whole house with His glory so that the priests could not stand to minister. [I Kings, 8:10-13, II Chron 5:13, 17:1-3] Ezekiel’s description of the departure of the glory of God’s presence from the Temple is probably to be understood in terms of the Shekinah. |
